Vassi Bieber Art

Vassi Bieber Art I am a watercolor artist who works from my in‑home studio. My early years were all No. 2 pencils and paper.

My approach is realistic and photographic: carefully capturing lights, colors, and bokeh to convey the atmosphere, context, and structure of each subject on paper. I’ve been doodling for as long as I can remember - with pencils, scraps of random paper, little sketches tucked into the corners of my childhood. As an immigrant kid, art felt like a private joy my parents gently (or not-so-gently) remi

nded me is “just a dream.” Somehow that dream followed me into adulthood, and now I’m stepping into what I hope will be my final career move. Over time I flirted with colored pencils, acrylics, and oils, but it was watercolor that stole my heart: the way pigment blooms and pools, the tiny surprises that happen when water and color meet. I still remember a video that stopped me in my tracks: someone grinding rocks into pigment, turning stone into color, and I was utterly captivated. In early 2021 the world slowed with COVID, and with a little extra time, I picked up better watercolor paper, a few brushes, and dove in. Friends and family cheered me on (Facebook was very kind), and five years later I finally took the leap to paint full-time. I genuinely love what I do and I especially love my little quiet experiments, the joyful accidents, the small, luminous moments on paperand I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy making it.

Hydrangeas are hard, especially since I don’t paint loosely. I am working on teaching myself to be a bit less precise (baby steps).

I took a photo of these beauties in Greece, in the summer of 2025, in front of this small bakery. I love when the flowers start to blossom and transition from white to yellow to pink.

I’ll add a few more pictures soon ❤️

Projects are never just paint on paper - there is a lot of prepping before painting and then there is final trimming. Every artist has their own, familiar and comfortable method for how they paint. I don't paint on a flat surface because my posture ends up suffering dramatically. I use an easel and I staple and tape my paintings to a gator board (this just works best for me).

Here, I show the final steps in my latest paintings "Danish Door & Bike". I already showed the tape removal and now I am showing the staple removal and trimming of the final piece.

Oh look, doing my favorite part of creative process (add lots of sarcasm here).

Finally done!

This is based on a photo I took in Denmark. I love taking photos of doors (particularly blue doors) and the bike just outside this house really portrays the overall personality of the Danish people. One of the things we learned when walking was to ALWAYS look left for bikes coming at you.
