I wish I had just a video montage of the guy moving dirt and stone. Because the amount he has moved over the past 17 years is truly astonishing. The last phase of the Great Greenhouse Project was to create this kind of landing pad for the fire pit, pool and greenhouse to make a place where it could all come together. As always, he crushed it. Even if it almost crushed him.

Already working hard and learning all of my lessons the hard way. Turns out seedlings need more than a beautifully crafted greenhouse to thrive in cold nights. Turns out they need to be tucked in with cozy blanket like the rest of us. Turns out I’m going to be making many, many mistakes. That’s ok, bring it on. It’s 40 degrees, cloudy and windy outside but I’m comfy in here ☀️

I thought for sure this was going to take the whole weekend but noah moved an entire yard of compost shovel by shovel in only two hours this morning. He’s amazing! This afternoon I’ll be seeding and planning and jumping up and down 😊

29 degrees in Catskill. 63 in the greenhouse! Now all we need is dirt!!

I love the way the cedar, bluestone and galvanized beds came together in here to make such a beautiful, organic space 🪴
