Happy 4th of July everyone. Have an amazing day and please be "SAFE" out there.

Didn't realize how dirty the driveway had actually gotten. It looked relatively clean.

REPAIR VS REPLACE!!

Just wanted to share. Researching online, I found that most household appliance life spans, are from 8 - 14 years. (Microwaves/hot water heaters/stoves ovens/washers/Dryers/etc). I do encourage you to complete your own research, as well.

Long story short -- please keep this in mind, if you have an appliance (or other replaceable items with normal wear and tear) that is midway between the lower and upper range. A person is almost in the gambling stage, at this point. The question becomes; is it worth it to have it repaired, or just replace it! If you're not a "DIY'er", you'll have to factor in "service call rates". How much the total repair vs replacement will be.

-- One example: if you have a 12 year old toilet, that isn't draining, or continuously running. Some companies charge upwards of $75 an hour, with a minimum of 2 hours. ($150) Which doesn't include parts, most of the time. Just the time is equal to the price of a lower end toilet . A new toilet from (Big Box Store Here) is anywhere from $100 - $300.

90% of the time I would just recommend replacing the appliances, rather than working on something that may be nearing the upper end of its service life, anyway. I usually follow: if the item is at the higher end of the max service life expectancy = REPLACE. If the item is at, or near the lower end of it's max service life and the repair is going to be more than 75% of a replacement equivalent = REPLACE.

Disclaimer--some high dollar items ($3000 smart refrigerator) may be better, to have serviced, depending on the "issues".

Daylight SavingsTime! Did everyone reset their clocks on every non-smart device? This is also a great time to think about:

- Checking/changing smoke detector batteries, if applicable.

- Checking/changing HVAC system filters. Dirty filters, can make your system struggle to keep up with demand.

- Checking cleaning rain gutters/downspouts.

As the weather is starting to warm up and Spring (appears) to be returning; now is the time to start thinking about those upcoming outdoor projects.

Well, the cold weather just about here! Just wanted to suggest the following, while the temps are below freezing:

- Disconnect all your hoses from outside faucets!
-- frozen water could expand back into the piping, from the hose--not fun!

- leave the cabinets around faucets open, to get warm room heat to pipes!

- leave a faucet, or 2 dripping to keep pipes from freezing up!

- please be careful, if using space heaters--try not to leave them going unattended!

STAY SAY EVERYONE
