Another one wrapped up by the BlueSky crew ☀️🏠

This homeowner trusted us with their beautiful home, and we delivered a full roof replacement with a FREE upgrade to a class 4 impact resistant shingle, using our crane-assisted setup to keep the job cleaner, safer, and more efficient. Being able to boom materials directly to the roof helps protect landscaping, reduces driveway clutter, and keeps the project moving fast.

This one turned out AWESOME. The black and white exterior with the new roof is such a clean look.

NOOOOO! 😬

Pulled up to this one and found two layers of old felt stacked on the roof… instead of tearing it down to the decking like it should be.

This is exactly why we always do a full tear-off at BlueSky Exteriors. Here’s why this matters:

1. Hidden problems stay hidden

When you stack layers, you’re covering up potential decking damage, soft spots, or moisture issues. Out of sight ≠ fixed.

2. Your roof system can’t perform the way it’s designed

Shingles, underlayment, ventilation… it’s all meant to work together as one system. Throwing new material over old layers compromises the whole thing, especially with Iowa wind and hail.

3. It’s just plain lazy

There’s no craftsmanship in cutting corners. It might save time for the installer, but it costs the homeowner in the long run.

We tore everything down to the decking, fixed what needed to be fixed, and installed a brand new system with GAF HDZ shingles (homeowner’s choice for solid wind and hail performance).

Do it once. Do it right.

Big day for the BlueSky team 👊

This is Hunter, one of the newest additions to our crew. Today was his first adjuster meeting… and he stepped right into it like a pro.

These meetings matter more than most people realize. It’s where details get sorted out, where things can either get overlooked… or done the right way.

We take a lot of pride in making sure our guys are prepared, confident, and actually advocating for the homeowner.

Everyone starts somewhere. But the standard stays the same.
