I was able to get most of the joists in before the rain tomorow and so I can get the lift back too.

A lot of progress for day one! Waiting on a lift for the tall side that is coming monday.

I was able to use up 38 of the 96 2x12×14 joist. At #75 per 2x12 that is a lot of wiegh moved around by hand.

This is what il looks like when you hit bedrock. Luckily Goliath Tech was nice enough to help by digging down to bedrock for me and I just had to clean it up and position the tubes for the footings to be able positioned properly and install some rebar to pin the footings to the bedrock.

Thanks to John Goliath Tech for helping install the helical piers last week for the town of jackson wedding barn deck. They where all going pretty good till they didnt.

They where able to get the 8 in on the south side of the barn in but had to add extentions to hit hard firm soil.

On the end of the install tool on the excavator is a device that reads how much torque each footing takes to install and depending on how much weight the footing needs to hold the increases or decrease the amount of resistance or torque needed on the helical pier.

So like I said it was going all good till they hit bed rock on the east side of the deck.

Then they had to jack hammer out to get the pier out because it didnt hit the torque or the depth that they needed and was just spinning on top of the bed rock.

So then they proceeded to dig down to bed rock and clear it off so that i am will be able to pour concrete on top of the bed rock.

Thankfully after 3 that hit bedrock close to the surface the bed rock got deeper and we where able to install the other 6 without to much resistance.

Another deck done!

The homeowner is going to install the decking and railings and just needed me to install the framing.
