We can’t get over the Hardy Hibiscus blooming right now! 🌺 Friendly reminder that these are PERENNIALS and will come back each year, as opposed to Tropical Hibiscus which are annuals and will not come back each year.

🍃 Hardy Hibiscus leaves are dull medium green heart shaped leaves, Tropical are glossy and dark
🥶Hardy Hibiscus need very little care over the winter in our zone, Tropical Hibiscus will not tolerate more than a night or two of light freezes.
🥵Hardy Hibiscus are heat-loving and do very well in Texas summers, having several varieties that are native to Texas. Tropical Hibiscus do fine in the heat as long as temperatures stay below 95 degrees, which is wishful thinking in Texas
🍽️ Hardy Hibiscus have dinner-plate sized flowers, Tropical Hibiscus have 3-6” flowers
🌼 Hardy Hibiscus have only white, pink or red flowers, Tropical Hibiscus have flowers of red, pink, orange, and yellow
🌺🌺Both can have double or single flowers
