It is 8/5 and and there’s little going on in the garden except for sweaty work. I moved thirty selected seedlings into an observation bed Sunday and Monday. About thirty more to go. We’ve gotten a desperately needed 3 inches of rain the past two days so it’s too wet to dig right now.

The two daylilies pictured were reblooming this morning. Description under each pic.

I’ve mentioned here before that Bettise Baker Davidson proliferates more frequently than any daylily I have ever grown. Today I cut off thirty proliferations that will be placed in cups of water for a week or two until their roots are about an inch long. They will then go into one gallon containers of potting soil. There are still a few more that I left growing on their scapes for a while longer. I brought them indoors to process because the humidity in SC today is a tad over oppressive!
