Oh, how I love my Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangea! It’s one of those plants that just makes you stop and smile every time you walk by. The way it starts out this creamy white, then slowly turns that soft blush pink, and by the end of the season, it’s a deep, dreamy strawberry like nature’s little show of romance right in the garden. It’s big, beautiful, and full of charm. Honestly, it’s one of my absolute favorites. I could just sit and stare at it, cup of coffee in hand, and feel completely at peace.

I’ve spent the past week and a half down on my hands and knees in the flower garden, pulling w**ds out by the roots one by one. It’s slow, honest work, but I wanted to do it naturally, giving my flowers room to breathe without harsh chemicals.

There are still a few stubborn little pieces I’ll spray with a natural solution, but for now, I’m sitting here, tired, dirt under my nails, feeling grateful and accomplished. There’s something about tending the earth this way that feels right, like I’m working with it instead of against it.

It may not look perfect, but it’s healthy and alive, and so am I.

Let’s talk about dandelions😊
wild, the untamed.

Dandelions actually improve the health of poor soil.

Every Part of the Dandelion is Useful

Dandelions are completely edible and medicinal — root to flower!
• Roots: Can be roasted for coffee substitute, support liver health.
• Leaves: High in vitamins A, C, and K, plus minerals like calcium and iron.
• Flowers: Make wine, jelly, or salves for the skin.
• They’ve been used in folk medicine for centuries.

Early food source for pollinators.

They are gorgeousas well !

They are in the sunflower family so not a w**d !

Today was an exciting day! I soaked and planted 9 different varieties of ranunculus! 0ver 300 corms! These little beauties are known for their layers of delicate, ruffled petals, and I can’t wait to see them grow.
There’s something about working with flowers that feeds my soul. Watching them grow, feeling the soil in my hands, and knowing that beauty is just weeks away makes my heart full. Here’s to a season of growth and discovery!

Thoughts for this season 🌸
Flowers are meant to grow in the dirt, under the sun, with the wind and rain shaping them, just as nature intended. That’s why I grow my flowers the old fashioned way, with my hands in the soil, planting, tending, and watching them bloom in their own time.

It breaks my heart to see how flowers have become just another factory product, pumped full of chemicals, forced to grow on an artificial schedule, and stripped of their natural beauty. That’s not what flowers are meant to be. They should smell like the earth, not preservatives. They should have character…bent stems, wild petals, a story in every bloom.

I don’t use excessive fertilizers or sprays because I believe flowers should be true to themselves. I want them to grow as they were meant to, rooted in the land, nurtured by my hands, and loved every step of the way. This isn’t just growing flowers to me, it’s about honoring nature, working with it instead of against it, and bringing real beauty back into the world.

My love for flowers runs deep, and this year, I’m expanding the gardens with even more breathtaking blooms. This spring, I’ll be adding ranunculus, with their delicate, rose-like petals , snapdragons, standing tall with their whimsical, ruffled blossoms, and sweet peas, whose fragrant, blooms will bring an old-world charm to the farm. I’m also introducing new dahlia varieties. These will mix well with our current varieties and wildflowers. These additions will bring endless possibilities ! I can’t wait to share the beauty of these flowers with you and watch them bring even more life and color to our Farms.A few pics of the varieties I’ll be growing 🩷♥️
