Last Tuesday was a workday at our new Demonstration Gardens, and we are slowly bringing our vision to life, one garden at a time! 🌱

We have started our Xeriscape Garden, which needs just a few more cacti and rocks. We also prepared our Bulb Garden for planting and did a little trimming on the oak tree in our future Pollinator Garden, which will feature Native and Butterfly Magnet plants. 🦋

A huge thank you to our Master Gardeners and Interns who came out and helped with our gardens in progress. Your hard work and dedication are making these gardens possible!

Our workdays are held on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month. We hope to see you at our next workday on September 17th! 🌻

🌹 Sharing the Joy of Roses Across Texas! 🌹

This past Thursday, Leon County Master Gardener Cheryl Loftin gave a wonderful presentation on Earth-Kind® Roses to more than 40 attendees at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension 2026 TEEA State Conference. This year’s conference was extra special as TEEA celebrated its 100th Anniversary! 🎉

Cheryl is truly an expert when it comes to roses and has earned her Advanced Training Certification in the Earth-Kind® program. We are so proud of her for sharing her knowledge and passion with gardeners from across the state.

Her hardworking assistant and husband, Master Gardener TJ Loftin, joined her in spreading the joy and love of roses. 🌹❤️

Cheryl did a fantastic job, as always! We are so proud of you, Cheryl and TJ! 🌿🌹
