This tree was growing along the edge of a wood line, reaching hard for sunlight over the years. What started as a slight lean eventually turned into an extreme, nearly horizontal lean, with most of the canopy hanging directly over a shop building.

To safely remove it, we rigged down limbs and sections over the structure piece by piece. Once the weight was reduced, the remaining bowed stem was secured with a rope and redirect setup, anchored back into the woods, and safely pulled over to the side for a controlled finish.

These are the jobs where planning, rigging, and precision make all the difference. 🌲🪢

Sometimes a pile of brush and precisely placed felling cuts are all you need after the canopy is rigged out! This was to protect an in ground water box, the sidewalk and the driveway!

Big red oak removal in a tight zone. Leads rigged over the house, spar dropped onto a perpendicular brush mat to absorb impact, landing within inches between the driveway, sidewalk, and ground access box—no damage. 👌💪

Wally on the rope, smoothly lowering the final brush piece out of this large hackberry while I made the cut from the tree 🤙

Big job today, knocked out with the help of Wolf Creek Land Company
and Muletown Stump Grinding (thanks for the video!)

Always a solid day working alongside professionals who take pride in doing the job right.

POV from the canopy—rigging out a top section with a Rock Exotica downrigger, keeping it controlled and clear of nearby trees and obstacles.

Large red oak removal using controlled lifting and rigging techniques.

In this removal we used our go-to lifting method to statically and precisely control very large leads directly over home communication lines, service lights, and drop wires while working close to the house.

A significant portion of the canopy was first climbed and rigged out like this to reduce weight and mitigate excessive force on the side leaning toward the home. Once the weight was balanced, additional rigging and pull lines were implemented to control the tree and guide the directional fall away from the house and yard.

This massive red oak measured over 40 inches in diameter, and removals of this size require careful planning, precise cuts, and controlled rigging to protect nearby structures and utilities.

Here we’re using a “Big Shot” slingshot to set a throw line over a selected union so we can pull up our climbing rope. This is usually the first step in accessing a tree.

A lot of times we can hand throw a line — but when you’re going very high into a tree and working in tight, wooded spaces, the Big Shot comes in clutch.

When there’s underbrush, small shrubs, fencing, or obstacles below, a hand-thrown line can easily get hung up. The slingshot keeps the line traveling in a tight path and lets us launch it much higher and farther with precision.

Throw lines also come in handy for:
• Setting remote rigging points
• Installing high pull lines
• Controlled directional felling
• Pre-tensioning back-leaners

The higher and more accurately we can set a line, the more control we have over the entire job.
