This Memorial Day hits different for me.

My big brother served as an Army Ranger, and I’ve had a lot of friends serve this country as well. Seeing the sacrifices they made — the time away from family, the battles they carry home, and the brothers and sisters they lost — makes you realize freedom truly isn’t free.

I honestly don’t think our veterans and active military get the respect they deserve anymore. These are real people who gave up comfort, time, peace, and sometimes everything, so the rest of us could live the lives we do every day.

Today isn’t just about BBQs and a day off work.
It’s about remembering the heroes who never made it home and respecting the ones still carrying the weight long after service ends.
