Two weeks later and we’re still not over this one. 💥 to Cosmo Couture DC and the moment “Burst Into Tomorrow” hit the runway!
Inspired by this year’s POP theme, our concept explored what happens when fashion chooses regeneration over consumption—transforming discarded materials into something unexpected, expressive, and entirely new. Because yesterday doesn’t have to be discarded; it can become the foundation from which tomorrow bursts into existence.
Every layer of the look told that story through a different stage of 3D-print filament:
✨ Corset: raw filament, melted and soldered together
✨ Coat: nearly 300 custom 3D-printed, ’60s Mod-inspired teardrop pieces, hand-sewn together with fishing line
✨ Skirt: remnant filament from light-fixture prints—material that otherwise would have been waste—melted and woven into a completely new form
And because it wouldn’t be POP without a little drama, string lights and finger lights brought the final look to life on the runway. 💡
