That reflection in the marble is not a filter. Those are the stained glass windows at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, mirrored in the sanctuary floor after restoration.

Marble floors in churches see a lot of wear from foot traffic. Over time the surface dulls and the stone loses that deep clarity it had when it was first installed. Replacing it would cost a fortune and disrupt the space for weeks.

Restoration brings it back. We honed and polished this floor using the same Old World techniques used on European cathedrals for centuries. No waxes, no chemicals, just the natural stone restored to its original finish.

If your church, office, or home has stone that has lost its shine, don't replace it. Call (703) 631-4625 or visit marbledoctorva.com for a free estimate.

Marble kitchen floors live a full life. Years of foot traffic, cooking, and everyday use naturally take a toll on the stone's finish.

This homeowner in Fairfax Station had watched their marble gradually lose its luster over the years. Looking at the floors, you'd think they needed to be replaced entirely.

One restoration later, the floor looks the way it did when it was first installed. Old World honing and polishing techniques, no waxes, no harmful chemicals. Just the marble, brought back.

Natural stone is meant to last. When it starts looking tired, restoration is almost always the answer. And it costs a fraction of what new stone would.

Natural stone adds timeless beauty to a kitchen. Keeping it that way takes the right professionals.

This kitchen had two countertop surfaces that had lost their finish over time. We honed and polished both back to a mirror finish without replacing a single piece.

If your stone countertops are looking dull, scratched, or flat, they probably don't need to be replaced. Natural stone is built to last. It just needs the right care.

30 years restoring stone in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Reach out if yours could use the same treatment.

Commercial travertine elevator lobby, before and after. Years of heavy foot traffic had taken a toll on the surface, and a prior cleaning attempt with the wrong products had darkened the grout lines further and dulled the finish.

We deep-cleaned the travertine and restored it to its original luster throughout the lobby floor. It's a common situation. Natural stone responds poorly to the wrong chemicals, and what starts as a maintenance effort can compound the problem. The good news is it's almost always recoverable.

Building lobbies set the tone for the entire property. When the stone starts to show wear, restoration brings it back without the cost or disruption of replacement.

If you manage a commercial property in the DC metro area, we'd be glad to take a look.

Moisture buildup had dulled the stone and left discoloration along the walls and floor. We deep-cleaned the travertine, restored the original finish, and sealed it for long-term protection.

Natural stone showers take a beating from daily use. If yours is starting to lose its finish, restoration is often all it takes.

Your marble floors might need more than just another round of cleaning products. We put together a guide on the five signs it's time for professional restoration: loss of shine, etching (those dull spots that won't wipe away), visible scratches, degraded grout, and DIY products that made things worse. If any of that sounds familiar, this is worth a few minutes.
