It’s a small detail, but it can make a difference in both cleanliness and longevity.

🔽 Rim Down: Helps prevent dust from settling inside and keeps glasses ready to use
🔼 Rim Up: Allows airflow and helps avoid trapping moisture, especially if not fully dry

The best choice often depends on your space, how often you use them, and how they’re stored.

Which way do you store your glassware—up or down? Share your preference below!

A little this or that for your feed today ✨

Both of these side tables bring such a different feeling to a room. A has that warm, antique-inspired metal look, while B feels a little more sculptural and grounded with the stone base.

I can see either one tucked beside a cozy reading chair or layered into a living room that feels collected over time.

Which one would you choose for your home, A or B?

This Chapel Hill living room is a beautiful example of how texture and natural light can completely shape the feeling of a space.

There’s so much to love here, from the soft sectional and layered pillows to the patterned area rug, glass coffee table, black accent lamps, greenery, and the view out those tall windows. The room feels open and bright, but still grounded and cozy. That balance is always what I’m looking for in a living room design.

I love when a space feels collected instead of overly matched. The mix of materials here makes the room feel interesting without making it feel busy. Soft upholstery, warm woven texture, a little shine from the glass and metal, natural greenery, and darker accents all work together to create a room that feels comfortable for real life.

A living room should be a place where people can gather, rest, read, watch a movie, or have a conversation without feeling like they’re tiptoeing around the design. This one has that kind of easy, welcoming feeling 🤍

This bedroom vignette from the show had such a cozy, layered feeling.

The warm wood bed brought in so much structure and character, while the soft green bedding, natural textures, and chunky knit throw made everything feel relaxed and welcoming. I especially loved the contrast between the clean architectural lines of the headboard and the softer, more lived-in layers at the foot of the bed.

These are the details that make a bedroom feel personal. Not overly styled or too perfect, but comfortable, grounded, and full of texture. The kind of space that reminds us design does not have to be complicated to feel beautiful. Sometimes it is the warmth of wood, a good blanket, layered pillows, and colors pulled from nature that make a room feel like home.

I am always drawn to bedrooms that feel restful but still have personality, and this one did that so well. Soft, earthy, and inviting.

Another beautiful vignette from the International Window Coverings Expo in downtown Raleigh.

This space caught my eye because it had such a strong point of view. The dark walls created a rich, dramatic backdrop, while the gallery wall of round convex mirrors added rhythm, reflection, and a little bit of glamour. I love how repetition can make a design feel intentional without needing everything to be perfectly matched.

The soft upholstered banquette balanced all of that drama so nicely. Then the stone dining table, sculptural base, fresh-looking branches, and layered finishes brought in texture and warmth. It feels polished, but still inviting. The kind of space that makes you want to sit down, look around, and notice all the little details.

This is such a helpful reminder that contrast matters. Soft with bold. Matte with shine. Modern lines with organic movement. That mix is what gives a room depth and keeps it feeling personal.

What detail catches your eye first here, the mirror wall, the banquette, or that stone table?

Ultimate Guide to Designing an Open Concept Home

Let’s dive into some tips that I use to help make decorating an open concept home design a bit more seamless.

1. If you want to go with a safer option for some design ideas for open concept homes, then decorating the space with a monochromatic color scheme can be your best option.

2. A great way to help you define your space and create separations would be with an area rug.

3. Move furniture away from the walls and create seating and conversation areas. You can also use large items like bookcases and screens to break up long walls and define spaces.

4. Stationary drapery panels can be a great way to help divide up the space too. If you need that wall or door, then curtains can easily allow this temporary wall to appear or disappear.

When it comes to making a home inviting, comfort is essential!

If you had to choose one feature to enhance your bathrooms, which would it be?

Would you prefer underfloor heating to keep your feet toasty warm, or heated towel racks to keep your towels warm and plush?

Which option do you think would boost your comfort level?

A soft bedroom moment with the sweetest little wall detail 🌼

I love how these floral pieces add texture and charm without making the room feel busy. Just a quiet layer of personality above the bed, paired with cozy bedding, warm wood, and soft lamplight.

It feels peaceful, personal, and very much like home.
