Our painting procedures are as follows.
1. PRIME (THE MOST CRUCIAL STEP) also use the appropriate primer and BACK ROLL. SW High build primer or USG Sheetrock first coat.
Do not use normal flat white paint on bare sheetrock.
1a. Use Quality products. Top of the line is not necessary but I'd steer clear of anything on the lower end. EX: SW PROMAR 200 BeHr paint and primer in one etc.
2.lightly sand and then Ceilings get SW Ceiling white
3. Any touch ups fixed as necessary cut and roll 1st coat of color
3. Light sanding to remove any roller marks crumbs or fuzz from the roller cover. Again any touch ups necessary.
4. Final cut and roll of color
This will give you the best finish possible and what you get every time from Johnson Drywall and Paint no shortcuts.

Changing the color of a wall is easy that's not painting... it is more than decoration it's protection. And proper paint mils are required to achieve the desired result!
