We’re proud to share that Darral Tate, AIA, NOMA has been selected for the 40 Owls Under 40, an honor recognizing Kennesaw State University alumni who are making meaningful impact early in their careers.
Since graduating, Darral has built a practice rooted in community-driven work, mentorship, and advocacy from introducing high school students to architecture and STEM careers, to mentoring KSU students through National Organization of Minority Architecture (NOMA), to serving in leadership roles within The American Institute of Architects (AIA) at both the local and national levels. His work has helped remove barriers for emerging professionals and expand access to the profession for underrepresented communities.
Now at Novus, Darral brings this same people-first mindset to our work, contributing to disaster relief and emergency response projects that operate at a regional scale and directly support communities during moments of critical need. From day one, his perspective and leadership have already added meaningful value to the team.
Darral believes architects don’t all follow the same path and that leaning into your passion is what makes you the best designer you can be. That philosophy aligns deeply with how we approach our work at Novus, and we’re excited to see how his journey continues to grow here.
Congratulations, Darral! 👏
