I was fortunate to find this 1911 Emerson 32641 fernleaf in copper oxide finish in excellent condition. I will be restoring this beauty soon so if you are interested, let me know. I include a historical photo of a similar fan in its original location.

Restoration of a 1930 Emerson longenose model 45641. It came to me in the usual state but fortunately not covered in layers of house paint. I still had to take it down to bare metal for paint and replace all the deteriorated original cloth wiring. I added an Emerson adjustable hanger where the top smaller pipe slides into the larger lower pipe and is secured with 2 set bolts. Lower pipe sleeved in antique spiral brass while the hanger hardware is covered by a brass "egg". Before and after photos.

While I am mainly a ceiling fan guy, I also pick up desk fans as well. These 2 R&M desk fans are for sale. The first is a 1911 R&M model 1404 with the square back ring. All original with original patina. New power cord. Second is a slightly later R&M model 15000 110 VDC. A full wave rectifier installed so you can plug and play. This is one of 10 15000s I know of so it is "rare". The 1404 is $375 and the 15000 is $750 not including shipping.

A Tale Of Two Westinghouse Ceiling Fans. I received a 1940s Westinghouse for restoration while I was restoring a 1930s Westinghouse which will be for sale. The comparisons are interesting. Mine is a late 1930s example with pressed steel blade irons but a cast iron centerpiece. The customer example is a 1940s example with cast iron brackets and a pressed steel center. The 1940s version has adjustable pitch blades clearly copied from the Hunter AdaptAir hub as they are identical in many aspects. Both are 3 speed 36 inch sweep fans. The pull chain example is available to buy. Befores, durings, and after photos:

Although pre WWII fans are my main interest, solid quality fans such as the Hunter Originals sometimes catch my attention. Here are 2 I have just spiffed up. A 1985 electrically reversible 3 speed model in polished brass and a 1984 electrically reversible 3 speed model in chestnut brown. Neither fan had much use and are in excellent condition.
