Mullet Point began with a constraint that became a conviction — the trees remain. Every decision that followed was a negotiation with what was already there.

Architecture that defers isn’t lesser for it. It’s more considered, more enduring, more alive.

The land told us where to look.

River Watch began with a simple act of observation. The water, the wind, the trees, the long views across the landscape — all of it informed the design, shaping a home built to belong rather than stand apart.

Honored to have this project recognized by Forbes as part of their America’s Top Architects feature. Grateful to our clients and collaborators whose trust made it possible.

Inspired by the enduring character of Charleston’s French Quarter and the quiet romance of English garden traditions, Jane’s Folly was designed as a home to be discovered slowly.

Gardens unfold as extensions of the architecture, views reveal themselves in layers, and everyday rituals are enriched by a deep connection to the landscape.

A place shaped by memory, beauty, and time.

A sketch is more than a drawing, it’s a way of seeing.

Immersed in one of Valencia’s most beloved public spaces, Scott turned to sketching to study the proportions, rhythms, and details that give Plaza de la Reina its enduring character.

The act of sketching slows us down, revealing relationships between architecture, light, and human experience that are easy to miss in passing.

Travel has always been an important part of our design process. By studying places shaped over centuries, we deepen our understanding of scale, materiality, and the qualities that make architecture endure.

Before anything was added, something needed to be recognized.

For this stair, we chose to keep the arched passage beneath - an element with quiet presence, something already resolved in its own way. It became the point of continuity as everything around it was reconsidered.

The intervention is subtle, but intentional. Lines are clarified, edges softened, and the geometry allowed to move more fluidly. A new railing traces the ascent with a lighter hand, bringing cohesion without excess.

What was once a series of moments now reads as one continuous experience - held between what was and what could be.

Swipe to see the process.

There’s a quiet beauty in the level of craft unfolding here, where every detail is considered and every hand shaping it carries deep expertise.

Grateful to be collaborating with SWH Landscape Architecture, Purvis Builders, Tuck, and the team at DuMond Iron, and Beau and Warren with Mesa Quality Fenestrations and Hope’s Windows.

It’s a privilege to work alongside those who share an uncompromising commitment to quality - bringing a thoughtful vision to life for truly special clients.

Along a narrow coastal parcel, Saltbox Bothy takes shape.

The familiar saltbox silhouette appears first in outline - simple, almost archetypal - but as you draw closer, it begins to soften. Shingle-clad gables step back, and a sculpted entry surround gathers the approach, giving the house a quiet moment of arrival.

Above, glass lifts the form lightly, drawing daylight deep into the rooms and balancing the grounded character of the rooflines.

Inside, the plan loosens. Spaces unfold with an ease that feels both coastal and intimate - cottage in scale, relaxed in spirit, and shaped for the gentle rhythms of life near the water.

After a brief hiatus while we relocated, we’re back — and thrilled to share that the Anderson Studio has a new home in downtown Charleston.

Returning downtown feels like a full-circle moment for us. We’re energized by the walkable streets, historic fabric, creative community, and the daily inspiration that comes from being immersed in the city’s architectural legacy.

This next chapter reflects who we are and where we’re headed — rooted in tradition, engaged with context, and thoughtfully evolving.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
