The Council of Garden Clubs of Greater Charleston invites you to our Summer of Love, weekend event.
On August 17-18, 2024, we will host two flower shows and a gardening expo with 20+ vendors, food trucks and local garden clubs at The Exchange Park in Ladson, SC.
Admission is free both days from 9AM-5PM.
Exhibitors may enter competitions in horticulture, designs, and botanical arts on August 15-16, which will be judged Friday August 16th.

I just saw this: I won the 2023 Gold Medal Award for the Carolina Rosarian, the quarterly newsletter of the Carolina District of the American Rose Society. Thanks to all who contributed to the newsletter, which made this possible.

FYI: A class on roses presented by Clemson Extension Agent Chris Burtt will be held at Cypress Gardens Dean Hall on May 3rd from 11:00am until 12:30pm. The class is free with admission to the park. No sign-up required.

Saturday, February 25th the Rose Society will be meeting at 2 pm, at the James Island Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Rd.

Our speaker will be Brennan Winkler, who will speak on all things roses, particularly how to grow from seed. Please save your rose hips and soak them overnight on the 24th so you'll be ready to plant on the 25th. The soaking makes it easier to extract the seeds from the hips. Brennan is generously bringing everything else that we will need to get growing! If you have lots of hips, please bring some extra for your friends.

If so, please let us know whether you will be sharing snack food, a dessert or drinks, that way we can bring whatever else we may need to make the party complete. We've heard from a few members and would love to have anything you'd like to bring, but particularly, perhaps a dessert?

Charleston Rose Meeting is this Sunday November 13 at the James Island Arts and Cultural Center, 1248 Camp RD. Social time from 4pm to 4:30 meeting and program to follow. Our Program on Noisette Rose, the first roses breed in America. Please bring any blooms for show and tell.
Everyone is welcome!
As always food is welcome and the club will provide the drinks
