Summer is winding down, and September feels a little different around here this year.

For the first time in a very long time, I’m not starting a school year or sending someone off to one.

I used to teach, and I have always loved this time of year. New notebooks, fresh calendars, getting organized, getting back into a routine and that feeling that it’s time to start something new.

Then came years of getting my own boys ready for school.

And now? Matt is 22. Drew is 25. No school supplies. No move-in day. No one is shipping off anywhere.

Apparently we’ve graduated.

But I think I’ll always love that September feeling. A little reset. A little organizing. A little excitement about what’s next.

So that’s the energy I’m bringing into this month.

Summer winding down, fall on the way, some travel ahead, and lots of good things happening at Embellish.

Here’s to a fresh start.

Boho Breeze was created alongside the team at PR Homes, with the whole home in mind from the very beginning.

A little Lowcountry, a little Anthropologie, and a whole lot of personality. Sophisticated casual, layered, relaxed, and made for a house full of family and friends.

So much of what makes a project special happens long before the final reveal. The conversations, the collaboration, the decisions, and the relationships built along the way.

Calm, considered, complete.

A full remodel means lots of job site conversations, decisions, adjustments, problem solving, and keeping an eye on all the details along the way.

And then you get to see it all come together.

A room with a view… and room for lots of guests.

I love the idea of two full beds in a guest house. More room for friends and family to come, stay awhile, and enjoy everything Lowcountry living has to offer.

Because the best part of a guest house is filling it with people you love.
