This maple was a cabled-together mess. Lots and lots of decay and very little solid wood holding it together.

36” dbh white pine. Longitudinal crack in the trunk and garbage fungi growing out of the the root collar.
This crack opened up at one point when we rigged some wood out of it.

As this hurricane warning turns into a hurricane watch I suggest everyone get what they need and avoid cutting things on a ladder if an emergency arises. No one needs to get hurt needlessly.
If a branch is on an electric wire, please don’t touch it. Don’t cut the branch. Don’t poke it with a stick. It can arch and kill you.

A very large 100’ white pine removed. Temptation to fell from the ground but the branch union was too close to the stump. Would have split apart. Had to use the bucket and then climb.
