The use of Butyl Tape or Joist Tape is the number one preventative measure for preventing premature joist rot. Which, is why we offer this as a company standard! We want to peotect and prolong the longevity of the decks we build for you the customer!

Also the deck behind me is not done being framed. We know we need to add more blocking and joist hangers. Its just unsafe to do that in the rain 🤙

We offer everything from small repairs to complete rebuilds! We use industry leading products to ensure our deck’s longevity.

As a company standard we use a product called Butyl Joist tape which creates a protective layer between the joists and the deck boards. When you use screws the tape wraps around the screw creating a water tight seal to prevent water from getting into the joists. Which is the number one cause of premature joist rot!

Speaking of screws we only using hidden screw fasteners for both pressure treated decking and composite/synthetic decking. Which delivers a more attractive finished product as well as preventing screws from popping out of the deck boards causing trip hazards.

Out with the old and in with the new! I replaced my old 28 oz Estwing with this beautiful 25 oz Estwing Sure Strike with a Hickory Handle. We will see how it stacks up to ‘ol reliable.

Tools of the trade at least for today! We have our Marksman Pro System as well as the board bender (we call it the board stretcher 😂). A Swanson speed square and a atomic series impact drill. When you have the right tools for the job it makes a world’s difference!
