When I made the decision to pivot careers, in many ways I had to start over. I was learning, growing, building, and finding my place in an entirely new industry. Over the years, I’ve had so many opportunities to share what I have learned, but lately, something feels different. I feel like I’m entering a season where leadership, service, and legacy are becoming a much more intentional focus.
I’m incredibly honored to be joining the National Board of the Window Coverings Association of America, an organization committed to education, connection, and the continued growth of our industry.

There is still so much I want to learn, but I’m realizing there is also quite a bit I’m ready to give.

There’s something about this time of year in the garden. After months of sweltering heat, so much has dried up, stopped blooming, and is simply hanging in for dear life. Then, all of a sudden, the black-eyed Susans rally, almost as if they are preparing for one last beautiful goodbye.
Every year, I’m mesmerized by how many life lessons live in the garden. There are seasons of abundance, when everything is blooming, and seasons when nothing seems to be growing at all. Still, beneath the surface, something is always happening. Perhaps that’s why I love gardening so much. It is a constant reminder that every season has a purpose and that there is so much abundance in what God has orchestrated, both in our lives and in the world around us. 🌻

Last week I was on a project walk with one of our trade partners and noticed a scripture reference printed on his water bottle. I didn’t recognize the verse, but I did notice it was only a couple of verses away from one of my favorites, Joshua 1:9.
So, of course, I asked him about it. Needless to say, that led to a conversation about leadership, entrepreneurship, and how much faith it takes to keep going when things get hard. What struck me was how similar some of our challenges are, but also how little we actually talk about the hard parts of entrepreneurship, especially on social media. It can appear that it’s all befores and afters, but there’s a whole lot happening in the middle. A lot of uncertainty, perseverance, faith, and figuring it out along the way.
