✅Are you team pine or team oak? ✅
While I know oak is trendy these days I personally much prefer pine. I love the giant boards and lack of busy grain. Modern pine can’t hold a candle to it unfortunately because it has a lot of knots.
This antique pine blanket box is from the early-mid 1800s and has been at the foot of our bed for more than two decades. It was one of the first antiques I bought for myself and it continues to stand the test of time. Not only is it a convenient place to store seasonal bedding, I love the way it brings rustic charm to the space.
If you love antiques or are curious about how to incorporate them into your home keep following. How about you, are you team pine or team oak?

👇👇👇Details on the chairs👇👇👇
These Windsor Chairs were hand made by Brian Cunfer of the Windsor Chair Shop of Lancaster County Pennsylvania. He uses traditional methods to make his chairs and even teaches his craft. If you’re interested in more info DM me and I can send his contact info including the color and finish info.
Though the wait is long it sure is worth it. These are so stunning. The hand crafted details are so apparent when you see them in person. I’m so blown away by how comfortable they are compared to the Hitchcock chairs with rush seats.

Before and after photos! If you are like me, you love a good before and after home renovation glow-up ❤️ and I happen to be particularly partial to this view right here 😊
The western façade of our 1793 stone farmhouse has seen quite an update over the last 2 1/2 years and I hesitate to even call this an “after” because we begin landscaping in just a few weeks!
Scroll to the next slide to see all of the changes we made. It’s like one of those games in the funniest section of the newspaper! (Who remembers those?!)

Pop quiz! What do these rooms have in common?
Answer: Let’s count the ways
1. They all have a cohesive color scheme. Within each room the limited palette of only a few carefully curated colors helps them feel put together and thoughtful. And while each of these rooms has a distinct feel, they all work together when you move from space to space.
2. They share the same chroma! While these rooms have a variety of hues (blue, peach, green, gold etc) they all fall within the same spectrum of chroma or purity. These are all lower chroma (sometimes called dirty colors) and have a muted, earthy and historical feel. Keeping your whole house palette in the same chroma is an essential key to decorating with color successfully.
3. I used a digital mood board to help make decisions when I was selecting colors and materials. Not that I want to give away all my trade secrets but I don’t mind sharing with you because we’re friends! Srsly, using a basic moodboard can help you select colors with confidence! I love Milanote. I even use it for my clients when we have online color consultations!
4. Okay there are probably way more! What commonalities do you notice about them? Comment below!

Next time you catch me complaining about living through yet another renovation project can you just remind me that it will all be worth it!

Srsly I’m so grateful to get to cook in this functional and beautiful kitchen every day! And the fact that it looks like it has always been a part of this home makes me love it all the more.
So as we roll into week number whatever- I’ve-lost-count-on our screen porch I’m going to just be over here gazing at my lovely kitchen.

Calling all rule breakers! 😜😜😜

Srsly though! I’m actually not much of a rule breaker… but in this living room space I threw caution to the wind and broke a big one.
And I’m okay with that! This room has such a vibe and we love the way it feels. If you want help figuring out which rules to stick to and which ones you can ignore let me know by commenting the word color below! I’ll send you a dm and we can chat about your interior design project!
