You all may know Scott Garner as an amazing architect. What you may not know is that his greatest roles are that of husband, dad, and grandaddy (even to those who have weaseled our way into the family by marriage).

Garner & Brown reunited last night with nearly everyone who has worked in the office to celebrate the upcoming retirement of Neil Brown. Colleagues from the past 40+ years came together to honor him.

Neil's passion for architecture is second to his passion for his beautiful family shown in the last picture. We wish him all the best in the world as he prepares to gradually move into this next phase of his life.

With this in mind, our architects design buildings with a community use in mind. Garner & Brown recently worked with the Stallings Fire Department to renovate and add to their fire station. You’ll now notice a prominent public entrance leading to offices while the training/community room has its own entrance in the rear adjacent to parking. The existing building was retrofitted as living quarters for the firefighters allowing for direct access to the trucks from all areas. The apparatus doors are now glass allowing for natural light and visibility of the fire trucks. These changes and many others have increased the fire station’s image and functionality.
