Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP)

Founded in 2009, the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) is a trusted leader for home energy efficiency solutions.

LEAP offers a wide range of services that reduce utility bills. For qualifying households, LEAP's program is completely free of cost. LEAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to leading the effort in our local communities to implement energy efficiency and renewable technologies in Virginia homes and businesses.

Some crawlspaces surprise us… and this one looked more like a pond, with over 1,500 gallons of water present. 🌊

LEAP recently visited a home where standing water had completely taken over a resident's crawlspace, preventing us from making energy improvements in the home.

While situations like this can be overwhelming for homeowners, we were grateful for the opportunity to step in, offer support, and help create a safer, healthier space beneath their home.

Every crawlspace tells a story, and this one reminded us just how important proper drainage, moisture control, and protection really are. We appreciate the homeowner for trusting us through the process and our team for turning a challenging situation into lasting peace of mind. 🏡

LEAP is everywhere this spring! Today we’re tabling for ourselves and the Energy Resource Hub with ’s How-to-Festival! You can also find us with .charlottesville for KidChella. All events are from 10-1pm! Make sure you’re there to get resources and activities for all ages!

LEAP was very excited to launch our LEAP Into Spring program at JMRL Gordon () yesterday. This program is a reading activity for 3rd and 4th graders to learn about sustainable energy and celebrate Earth Month. We even have a spring display with all of your energy efficiency needs!

Today, LEAP tabled at ’s Hub! A weekly resource for underserved members of the community, the Hub is meant to connect residents to the support they need.
