After a 13-year investigation, we are pleased to announce that the legendary Golden Spigot Award, missing since the mid-1960s, has finally been found!

The search was made possible through a combination of highly trained investigators, advanced technology, several wrong turns, and approximately $2.7 million from Minnesota taxpayers, $1.1 million from Carver County property taxpayers, and $895,000 from the taxpayers of Chaska.

Some may question the expense. We prefer to call it an investment in history.

According to local legend, the Golden Spigot disappeared after an argument between Mr. Cleaver and Mr. Brady sometime in the 1960s. The details have been lost to time, but witnesses reported raised voices, pointing fingers, and possibly a garden hose being involved.

For decades, the trophy was believed to be gone forever.

Fortunately, while looking for something completely different, we found it.

To celebrate the return of this priceless artifact, we are bringing back the Golden Spigot Award Competition!

It truly amazes me every single day just how incredible the Chaska community is. The texts, emails, cards, phone calls, cards, hugs, prayers, and kind words we have received while Jen recovers from her 3rd stroke have touched our hearts in ways we will never fully be able to put into words.

This morning, while opening the store, I found a handwritten note along with gift cards from Sara and the staff at Jersey Mike’s Subs in Chaska left in our side gate I stood there reading it with tears running down my face. In a world that can sometimes feel heavy, moments like this remind us just how blessed we are to live in a community filled with such loving, compassionate people.

Sara and the entire Jersey Mike’s staff — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness was not “just” a note or gift cards. It was love. It was support. It was a reminder to Jen and me that we are not walking through this alone.

Jen continues to fight every single day. Some days are better than others, but she keeps pushing forward with incredible strength. Every act of kindness we receive, every message, every prayer, every person who stops to ask about her — I carry all of that home to Jen. And when I tell her about the love this community continues to show us, it brings tears of joy to both of our eyes and gives us strength to keep going.

We love this community more than words can say. Thank you for lifting us up during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.

Possible Frost Warning Tonight ❄️

There is a very slight chance of frost in some of the outer suburbs tonight, so we decided to play it safe and bring our tender plants and tropical plants inside.

If you have young plants or tender annuals, it would be a good idea to cover them overnight or bring them inside if possible. Even a light frost can damage new growth pretty quickly.

Better safe than sorry this time of year!

It looks like a few ladies took 80% of the free plants that needed some TLC out in front of the store tonight. From this point forward we will only be putting them out during bussiness hours, and the rack will be within my eye site. I am sorry that a few clowns decided to take more than they should have.. These plants are for many, not just afew. I only post to Real Life in Chaska, and Minnesota Gardens, I do this because it truly is better to give when you can.
