Help us welcome the newest member of the f|a team!

Benji grew up on a four-generation family farm in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. Coming from a family of healthcare workers, artists, and engineers, Benji's path into healthcare architecture seems inevitable.

A proud Mississippi State University graduate, Benji moved to Knoxville after graduation and fell in love with East Tennessee. After some time back in Mississippi, he is returning back where he belongs, and we are thrilled to have him leading our Healthcare Studio!

David brings 34 years of experience in architecture and engineering, specializing in detailing and CAD modeling. Originally from Tellico Plains, Tennessee, David's journey has taken him from North Georgia to Knoxville and now Chattanooga. Outside of work, David enjoys boating and hiking with his wife Alicia and their family.

The Baylor School's Student Center interior refresh creates an inviting space for students to relax, socialize, and focus on their studies. Featuring custom concrete ping pong tables, the center offers a unique blend of fun and functionality. The vibrant neon sign, new furniture, & finishes contribute to a modern, comfortable atmosphere. With these updates, the space is a dynamic hub for student interaction and creativity, capturing school spirit.

The groundbreaking event for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's School of Nursing marks an exciting step forward in healthcare education. In collaboration between FA & HOK Atlanta, this 92,500 square foot modern structure will support program growth and reflect the ongoing technological advancements in the ever-changing field of healthcare.

Let's extend a warm welcome to Alex Meave as he joins the FA team! Alex spent much of his youth in Bolivia, South America, the majority of his life in California, and recently relocated to Chattanooga with wife and puppy OLI.

His interest in architecture was sparked early on, inspired by his family's background and the balance of creativity and practicality that the field offers. He shares, "A space not only serves a purpose but also engages the senses of its occupants, offering them comfort, a sense of refuge, and protection."

Alex enjoys a diverse range of activities, including 3D printing, RC cars, and nurturing his plants. Since settling in Chattanooga, he has been involved in landscaping and remodeling to transform his house into a cozy haven.

For the first time since it was built in 1990, Siskin Hospital is renovating the entire 4th floor to create an inpatient unit for patients with spinal chord injuries. To help accommodate the need for additional patient care space within the existing footprint of the building, we developed a new, more efficient, standardized patient room that stacked the patient toilets and created an additional 80 square feet for each room. This allows for private therapy sessions to occur in their room, and frees up common space elsewhere for other purposes.
