Dear Friends, I owe you an honest update. I have been putting this off for weeks because I have always believed in my soul, that where there was a will, there was a way. I have been truly humbled, and now question that belief.
The March blizzard hit us hard, and caused catastrophic damage to nearly all of our greenhouse structures. We lost all of our plants, and were forced to cancel all incoming stock. We are still working through the full picture of what that means for Petrichor this season, and I am not yet in a position to share a timeline with any confidence.
Regrettably, what I can tell you is that the May 1 opening and our Mother’s Day event simply cannot happen as planned.
This little place was built on actual blood, sweat, tears, love, hope, and the dedication of a handful of beautiful individuals who shared my dream of creating a place where people could come to slow down, connect with themselves and others, and bring a little joy and beauty into their everyday lives. I am working every single day toward a path forward to continue that dream, but I am unable to say what that looks like yet moving forward.
The outpouring of condolences, concern, and support has meant more than I can ever say. I am committed to making Petrichor not only what it was, but better than ever, with all of you foremost in mind. My friends, my acquaintances, my loyal customers: thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
With so much love,
