Things are starting to get pretty around here now! The irises in the garden are at peak bloom this weekend. Plan a visit soon if you would like to see them. I have included photos here of just a few of the potted varieties that we still have available for sale. Don’t miss your chance to get a few of these for your garden. We usually sell out of our potted ones during bloom season.

We are fast moving into peony season here, as well. We have a great selection of varieties, all potted and ready for your garden. We still have available 2 varieties of yellow itohs. In addition to ‘Bartzella’, we have 2 pots left of ‘Smith Family Yellow’. This is a new variety for us here at Nettie’s. ‘Kansas’ is blooming in the sales pots as well as the beautiful semi double white, ‘Miss America’.

Our potted Siberian irises are coming into bloom. We have pictured some of the available varieties in this post.

Iris season is finally here! The garden is beginning to show some great color now. Though a tad later than they have been for the past couple of years, I think there will be quite a few open this weekend to enjoy. So, stop on by. Bring your camera, if you like, or your easel. Enjoy them any way you wish. If you would like to purchase some for your own garden, we have lots all potted and ready to go.

While you are here, pop into the greenhouse and take a look at our hanging baskets. We still have many beautiful ones to choose from.

It’s almost peony season. Our first bloom opened today in the sales pots. We have several beautiful varieties available, including the very popular yellow ones.

Last call for veggie seedlings. The remainder will probably get planted in our garden soon if not purchased. We still have several varieties of tomatoes, including the super sweet ‘Sun Gold’ cherry. Still some pepper plants as well as eggplant available, and a few packs of ‘Harmonie’ snack cuke are still here. We still have several varieties of herbs available, as well.

Don’t forget this weekend is Mother’s Day. What better way to show her you care than with plants. Let us help you choose that perfect gift this year. Our greenhouse is filled with fresh hanging baskets, just coming into bloom, that will flower all season long. We have patio planters, as well. Maybe veggies are more to mom’s liking. We have wonderful hanging basket tomatoes that are blossomed and all ready to produce some of the best cherry tomatoes she’s ever tasted. There’s a good selection of veggie and herb seedlings, too, to get her garden off to a great start. Maybe mom would prefer a perennial plant for her garden that will come back year after year.We have perennials for shady gardens as well as those for sun. Our potted bleeding hearts are all beginning to bud now. We have a great selection of peonies, too, both herbaceous and intersectional. Our potted plants wintered outside and are looking great. The June garden just wouldn’t be complete without them. Their beautiful flowers, hardiness, and low maintenance make them unsurpassed for our Maine gardens. We have included photos of a few varieties we have available. Be sure to check out our full line when you visit. If mom likes daylilies and irises, you won’t find a better selection than here at Nettie’s. Bring mom over this weekend where she can browse our colorful photos of bearded irises and daylilies that are all potted and ready to go. Any of our varieties will add a touch of distinction and beauty to her garden.

Happy spring to all of our loyal followers. We have made it through another winter and now it's finally feeling a bit warmer outside. We are open for the season with a small change to our business hours. We will be here from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and are looking forward to seeing you all once again.

The online photo albums have been updated with the 2026 potted inventory of daylilies, tall bearded and dwarf bearded irises. Feel free to take a look at them and let us know if you have any questions.

The greenhouse is filled with annuals, veggie seedlings and hanging baskets. Outside, the potted perennials are coming to life again. It's a sure sign of spring with the double bloodroot and the spring primrose blooming in the pots.
