We are a destination for anyone looking to escape from the ordinary, let your creativity soar, and make meaningful memories that last well past the final burn of the candle. During your visit, our scent consultants will guide you through an olfactory journey of over 100 scents while you jot down your favorites to sift through later. Once you’ve chosen the candle jar or home fragrance product you w

ould like to make, we will help you narrow your list down to a few fragrance choices that will blend well together. We will bring you your fragrance oils of choice so you can mix them in the perfect proportion to your liking before blending them into your candle, diffuser or wax melts. While your candle or wax melts cool, we highly recommend you explore the Southport Corridor neighborhood. Have dinner or drinks at one of the numerous restaurants or bars around our studio. Pick up your candle after you finish dinner or on another day! AURA is more than just a place to make candles. Note, although reservations are recommended, walk-ins are welcomed if we are not at full capacity! We can’t wait to pour with you!

Shop candles to raise money for local animal organizations 🐾

Starting Saturday August 22, we’re bringing back the candle adoption event—our anniversary tradition of giving handcrafted candles a second chance, all while giving back to our local community.

Throughout the year, we save every candle made in the studio that doesn’t get picked up. Visit our studio to find one to take home with you. 100% of the proceeds benefit two of our favorite local organizations, PAWS Chicago and Paws for a Cause Vet Care (Formerly Spay Illinois).

A lot can happen in six years.

It all started with an experience our family shared. Then came an idea, a move, a pandemic, thousands of guests, countless celebrations, and a whole lot of learning along the way.

Over the last six years, we’ve poured 123,075 candles, used 1.2 million ounces of wax, burned through nearly 17 miles of wick, and welcomed more than 100,000 unique guests to the bar.
But the numbers only tell part of the story.

We collaborated with to create a custom scent inspired by the love between pets and the people who love them—from grounding woods to fresh morning greens, every note chosen with intention.

Paws for a Cause Vet Care is the largest nonprofit veterinary clinic in the Midwest, providing affordable, high-quality veterinary care to more than 25,000 pets each year. 20% of every purchase goes directly back to their mission of making accessible vet care a reality in Chicagoland.
