Our rooftop makeover is entering a new phase! We finally have our new Pergolux S4 Pro installed, and it’s already completely transformed the space.

Our old pergola was too small and in rough shape, so we wanted something that would add shade, define the rooftop, and make it more functional.

We needed a more compact miter saw for our new condo, so we headed to Lowe’s to check out our options. The expanded DEWALT display made it so easy to compare tools in store. The best part? We go two free batteries with our new miter saw purchase!

It WILL be worth it though! I can’t believe how far this deck has come with a good sanding, it almost looks brand new. Even though the process was not fun, I think this will be one of those projects where we will quickly forget the effort it took because we’ll be really happy with the outcome. Stay tuned for stain!

I can’t believe we genuinely thought we could magically power wash the existing finish off this deck 😂 We’ve been seriously humbled by this process and ended up spending weeks manually sanding to get it prepped for a new finish.

It’s finally time for our old pergola to come down and make way for a freshly refinished deck and a brand-new pergola. Every time a storm rolled through, Kam and I wondered if this thing was going to blow over because it was barely attached and hanging on by a thread!

It’s time for our first big project at our condo: a rooftop makeover! We weren’t planning to dive into a major project so soon after moving in, but this one couldn’t wait. The existing pergola was barely hanging on, and the deck was in desperate need of some TLC.

This project includes a lot of firsts for us, and we can’t wait to bring you along for every step. Here’s to creating the rooftop space we’ve been dreaming about!
