Spring pots are planted at Fort Wayne Turners! Once again I used plenty of perennials that can move to the beds once we replant for summer!

One of my favorite spring bulbs - frittilaria meleagris - is perfect on the bathroom sink. Just a few stems in a bud vase and voila! They naturalize easily, but I rarely cut the white ones so they will spread even more.

Happy Easter everyone! Loved using old and newer Martha Stewart collections (Riverside napkins from Kmart, Macy’s bunny dishes, new rabbit and aqua rimmed plates), as well as an old flower basket filled with branches full of apple and a few peach blossoms from the “Alley Orchard”. The rest of the flowers were cut today in the garden. It always feels good to pull things from the Archives!

Just in time for Easter, spring planters are underway! Using perennials is a great way to create spring color and then plant them in the garden when it’s time to change the pots to summer.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Here are a few shots from a fun luncheon I created for some lovely ladies. I love doing small parties because I can pull from the archives and use a mix of pieces from the old pink Depression Glass salad plates to the new Martha Stewart pink hobnail goblets. Milk glass and clear yogurt jars hold flowers grouped together with mostly one type of bloom in each vessel, while new and old glass and ceramic bowls hold candy ready to pick at. The celery vases full of red licorice mixed amongst the flowers finishes off the long and low “centerpiece”.

The holidays were crazy, and I hate to admit that I didn’t even decorate at home (that will never happen again). It was, however, filled with moments I was proud to create and be a part of. Cheers to new things in 2026!

Let me tell you, this old plum colored loveseat is still as sturdy as the day I bought it when I was like 19. I long ago ditched the back cushions to be able to use pillows instead, and since it’s so deep and the arms are a funny height, I would need to have a custom slipcover made. Or, I can buy tablecloths and throws, pull, tuck, and voila. Pets? Spilled wine? Dropped food? Throw it in the wash. Even if I had a white cotton duck slipcover made, I would probably still do this to change up the look. Swipe for the “Old Suzani” (Ralph Lauren tablecloth) fabric I swapped out for the summer blue and white.
