🌟 A Long Overdue Hello from Annaline Interior Design 🌟
It’s been a while since I’ve shared something here, and I truly missed connecting with all of you! Life has been full—both personally and professionally—and in the whirlwind, I neglected this page. Today, I want to change that.
Recently, I visited a place that holds a very special spot in the history of interior design: The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. This iconic destination isn’t just a luxurious retreat; it’s a masterpiece of bold colors, striking patterns, and timeless elegance. Its interiors were designed by the legendary Dorothy Draper, a pioneer who transformed American design with her fearless use of color and scale. Her influence is everywhere at The Greenbrier, and yes—there’s even a shop named after her inside the resort!
For me, this visit was pure inspiration. Walking through those vibrant halls reminded me why I fell in love with design in the first place: it’s about creating spaces that tell stories and spark joy.

The 2024 Hinsdale Kitchen Walk took place last Friday, May 10, 2024.
Six incredible Hinsdale homes were opened for this year's walk.
I was very lucky to find time for this year's event since it is a treat for the eyes and a great socializing event. Also as a designer, I was looking for several cool ideas, which I found, and I would like to incorporate now into my future projects.
I was also happy to see there my cousin's gorgeous wife, which I expected to show up, since they live right there in Hinsdale. Dam, she always looks great! I'm so jealous! How is she doing it?!

Sometimes measuring existing buildings to draw in AutoCAD floor plans for clients is a sensational experience. Today my senses were overwhelmed with a fresh smell of bread and cookies made in a bakery which is ready to update/upgrade their space. (Did I mention that I walked out from there with a full bag of free bakery goods?!) Happy Thanksgiving to my new client and everyone else!

Finally: the historic moment for interior designer in Illinois! Bill 4715 has been passed in the state of Illinois!! Registered interior designers in Illinois will now have stamp and seal privileges. This legislation recognizes Interior Design as a distinct profession in the built environment and acknowledges the crucial role professional interior designers play in protecting occupant health, safety, and well-being.

Can't wait for final finishes and touches and furniture.....By the way: did you ever have to hire 9 people to transport and install your kitchen island? What a privilege to be back at the CIDQ Headquarter in Alexandria, VA to collaborate with the smartest and most creative designers from around the US and Canada! I learn so much from every single person in the room when we write questions for upcoming NCIDQ exams. Some of the girls I got to know almost 10 years ago! And others I met just recently but we all never forget to enjoy free time after hard work and to explore Washington DC area hidden treasures.

The Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) is the premiere certifying organization for interior design professionals. CIDQ develops and administers the three-part NCIDQ Examination, which tests interior designers’ knowledge of core competencies required for professional practice in the industry. The NCIDQ Certification has been the gold standard for interior design professionals for more than 50 years. It is the globally recognized hallmark of a highly qualified interior designer.
NCIDQ Certification assures interior designers are competent to meet industry standards not only for aesthetics but also for public health, safety and welfare.
