A wonderful two weeks in Long Island, NY , a new garden by .

It’s so much fun laying out Piet’s gardens, there’s always exciting new plants and combinations that I just can’t wait to see come to life. We are waiting on some more plant material and some of the irrigation to be finished and will be back for some more layout fun this summer. The garden will open mid October .

Thank you to for the beautiful plant procuring and nursery management on site. is already a great landscape curator for the space. Appreciate the assistance from and all the other state, foundation employees and volunteers for all the support and help.

is a great leader making sure everything is getting done as needed for a spectacular finished product!

Yesterday was opening day of the new in Omaha, Nebraska! Designed by the talented and . This project is so special to me as it is two hours from my hometown and I got to over see every aspect of the garden going in. From selecting the trees and shrubs, to the placement of every craned in tree, to the placement of the plant material and fall bulbs. I’m over joyed by the incredible thoughtfulness that went into this space and can’t wait to go back again and again!

It was great to be able to bond with the head gardener .cippera from during this process. He caught on quick and the passion for this space was exuding from him. The whole install and plant procurement team from was great to work with and wanted to get it right! Thank you to everyone who made this possible and helped out, the years of hard work paid off and it’s now a special spot to many.

Some more fabulousness from my parents garden in Iowa that we started over 16 years ago. A garden where I’ve learned so much about plants by growing. You have to try them for yourself to see how they work for you in your area, not always what the book says. This is the secret to a good garden, knowing your plants inside and out. Push the limits and have fun!

Last we got started on the layout of the new garden in Long Island, NY. This meadow is a part of a beautiful estate and arboretum.

Thrilled to be a part of this team and be trusted to lay out Piet’s beautiful plans. We’ve been busy working on bed preparation and grading. We got two beds in and planted.

always finding the most beautiful and unusual plants and trees. We got some additional help from the talented and from Calder Gardens.

Lots more fun to be had as we layout this amazing garden to be ready for the October Opening.

We installed this beautiful backyard last week in Wilmette, IL. Half the yard is shade and the other sun. It’s going to be robust but still plenty of room for the dogs to play around, in the turf ☺️. That’s the plan lol. With over 1000 perennials and grasses this is sure to be a special spot for some amazing coffee time and some celebrations on the patio. We used some columnar Pinus for a screening hedge for privacy and it’s looking fabulous!

🥹🤩🤗 parents home garden update. We’re just getting things started! The Allium, Salvia, and monarda take the show as large forms start taking shape: Persicaria, Echinops, Eupatorium, Veronciastrum, Lilium and so much more!

This new backyard garden had great bones with this amazing custom made steel water feature and my client is amazing at bed lines. I used bold perennials is small groups to pop out of a mixed matrix of Amsonia, Geranium, Kalimeris, and Molinia! Small blocked groups surround the patio and on either side of the matrix beds.

So excited to watch this one!

Opening Day botanic garden!!!!
I’m so honored to have been able to work alongside the incredible team that dreamt up this project and the amazing designers that I get to work alongside the other new spaces.

We had the pleasure of designing the Anne Cummings White Garden on a gorgeous hillside seen from many directions and angles. This is why I created 3 planting schemes that bounce up and down the hillside 3-4 times for each palette. I also added a woodland garden and thicket that will provide shade respite and shade plantings to make your heart full. We had over 22,000 perennials and over 130 species, a majority of native plants.

I’m so excited to watch this space grow and the community to grow with it. Richmond has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to visit again and again.
