Some nice moments at the Glen Ellyn Boat House garden I designed in 2022. I designed the courtyard garden of the boathouse on this public lake and a shade garden that welcomes people to the lake front.

There are a few holes in the garden and some edges that have been ran over by work vehicles but overall the structure and bones of the garden are still in tact.

Yes, we do design for residential gardens, as well as public space. We love to remove turf and make it something more sustainable and beautiful!

A lot of people ask if we design home gardens and yes we love to get to know our clients and make a beautiful oasis for them to enjoy and hopefully not want to be away for too long and enjoy every moment that we have planned throughout the year.

Love a before and after. This is the backyard we installed this matrix border with large perennials to pop out throughout the seasons. The Groundcovers has taken off since planted 3 months ago!

Now we wait for the larger perennials to fill in and grow. It’s well on its way to its beautiful glory! Not to mention that glorious custom built fountain!

Sanguisorba canadensis, Pycnanthemum incanum, and Persicaria polymorpha are flagging this robust corner of one of our projects. I love how the robust plants are unexpected and lets you know you’re in a safe place and home of a plant lover! In this part of the garden the client wanted a white garden, and that it is. 🙌🏻😊💕

🧘 Here’s the yoga studio we designed this spring and we couldn’t be prouder. The clients have taken such good care of the garden and it’s already a favorite task of the team to get out in the garden and have some plant therapy! Who can relate? 🙋🏻‍♂️

It’s only been a few months and the garden still has so much more to give and grow! Plants always impress me: if you put them in the right place, next to their friends and put them in good hands they do what they’re meant to do. Live a long and happy life together in harmony!

It was fun to see everyone slow down as they passed wanting to enjoy a bit of ‘nature’ and noticing that this landscape was something different than its surroundings.

Got to check in on this garden in Evanston, Illinois this week. We installed this garden in 2025 and loving how it’s turning out, we installed the backyard this spring and I’ll share photos in another post. It’s a part sun to shade front yard with lots of foot traffic nearby. The client wanted to share the beauty with everyone that passes by on their strolls.

Fun to take the meandering paths and explore it from every angle, even from inside the house with the large windows!

The Heuchera ‘Autumn Bride’ are really showing off! Love this subdued variety that shows that it has a place in the garden!

A great combination found in the new garden we installed Studio 11 | Yoga & Wellness . This is Sporobolus airoides ‘Austin’ and Rudbeckia ‘Green Eyed Lady’ both an introduction by Brent Horvath . Can’t wait to show you more of this garden in the coming week!
