Monserrate Palace, Pena Palace and the streets of Sintra. The palaces are examples of Sintra Romanticism rich with Moorish influences. Monserrate Palace built by Francis Cook and designed by architect James Knowles in 1863 fell into disrepair after WW2 but was restored in 2016. The gardens and palaces of Sintra are classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
