Happy Motherโs Day to the woman who is the root of everything beautiful in my life โ my mother, YMH.
She came from a small village (Shuang xi) in Taiwan, where life was simple, hands were always in the soil, and love was shown through care, sacrifice, and quiet strength. She grew up surrounded by plants, nature, and beauty โ and somehow carried that same ability to nurture into every life she touched.
Everything I create, every space I build, every act of love and resilience in meโฆ began with her.
People often ask where the spirit behind The Plantier comes from. The truth is: it comes from my mother and my grandmother โ two women who taught me that plants are more than decoration. They are memory, healing, art, patience, and home.
The Plantier was never just a place. It is a living tribute to them both. To their hands, their stories, their creativity, and the quiet magic they carried through life.
I miss my mother more than words can explain. Some days, the ache arrives unexpectedly โ in the smell of soil, in the sight of a new leaf unfurling, in moments where I instinctively want to call her and share something beautiful.
And maybe thatโs because we are still so alike in spirit.
Everything I do reminds me of her.โจEvery beautiful thing I grow reminds me of where I came from.
Today, Iโm simply overwhelmed with gratitude that out of all the souls in this world, I was blessed enough to call her my mother.

And if youโre missing yours today too, I hope you find them in the little things they left behind โ in traditions, in memories, in gardens, in art, in yourself.
