If you're craving a comforting classic, this Salisbury steak recipe is about to become your new weeknight favorite! 🍽️✨
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80–85% lean)
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
1. Start by mixing together the ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Combine everything just until it's mixed, then shape the mixture into four oval patties.
2. Heat up the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they’re beautifully browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, toss in the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they're tender. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms, stirring well to coat.
4. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the gravy thickens up nicely.
5. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning that delicious gravy over them. Cover and let them simmer for another 10-15 minutes until they’re cooked through.
6. When ready to serve, garnish with fresh parsley. Pair your Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes or steamed veggies for the perfect meal!
