Gleason Johndrow Landscaping, Inc. is searching for a full time hard-working, reliable, and experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. If you thrive in fast-paced environments-this may be the position for you! We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles in the shop and occasionally in the eld. Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines (i.e. commercial landscape equipment), engines and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. You must be able to work with various machines and tools, as well as follow all safety precautions.

Responsibilities

Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues

Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
Keep logs of work and report on issues

Working Conditions:

Due to our rapid growth, we are searching for highly skilled individuals to join our team. We are currently seeking qualified Machine Operators, Site Managers, Plow Truck Drivers, Sub-Contractors and Snow Shovelers throughout the Greater Hartford and Western Mass area. Under the supervision of a Site Manager/Foreman, crew members are expected to plow/shovel snow at one of our designated commercial snow accounts.

This is a seasonal and on-call position, with possibilities of long-term employment after the winter season, pending an employee review. These positions are weather dependent and have no guaranteed set hours. All hired candidates will qualify for a Performance/Attendance based Bonus Program!!!

Pay:
Machine Operators... $25-$40/hr
Site Supervisors... $30-$40/hr
Shovelers... $18-$25/hr

Responsibilities:

- Available to work 24/7, including holidays and weekends during snow storms.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism & integrity.
- Meet scheduled deadlines without sacrificing customer service or quality of work.
- Work as part of a team and have the ability to take direction.
- Ability to work or stand for long periods of time, as designated by the Site Supervisor/Foreman.
- Keep accurate time sheets.

Requirements:
- At least (1) year experience operating heavy equipment (Loaders, Skid-Steers/Bobcats,
Ventacs, etc).
- Maintain care of personal & company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Highly motivated & detail orientated.

We are seeking experienced Landscape Mowing Crew and Project Crew Leaders - as well as Crew Members, for our Chicopee, MA Location, which maintains high-profile commercial properties throughout MA ad CT. We are looking for bright, energetic, team players that are detail oriented, have a strong work ethic and take ownership of their work.

Responsibilities of a Crew Leader:

Supervising all lawn maintenance service activities of the crew -- ensuring that all crew members have the required safety material, the crew members have the tools needed to complete the job and that the crew members are operating safely.
Completing a pre-trip and post-trip inspection report each day
Communicate with branch management, as needed about issues, progress on the day, etc.
Using landscaping tools and machinery, as needed. Safely driving crews to and from jobs, adhering to Company's safety policy and ensuring that the public will be safe while in contact with crews.

Accountable for quality performance, safety compliance, and job specific ownership.

Requirements

Experience managing a crew consisting of laborers providing landscaping or related services.
Clean driving record - Required

Crew Members are also responsible for set up and clean up, and taking good care of our trucks and machinery.

Crew Members are team players, able to work Flexible hours and be willing to take direction.

Requirements

Applicants must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, doing very physical work, able to lift/carry 35-80 pounds.

Must be at least 18 years old, enthusiastic and dependable, and able to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters.

Previous experience is helpful although not required; but you must have a basic understanding of landscaping.
