Had some heavy rain and wind the last week, followed by two nights of frost warnings. This Lemon G is still finishing her final weeks outside, so what do we do to protect it from the elements????
We used an old 2x4 tent frame and tarps to build a small structure around and over her.
This helps keep the wind from full force impacting the branches, and the frost from getting to the plant and causing serious issues.
Once temps rise above 40 the next morning, we can see the last pic showing she is just fine when we unwrap her…
Just remember you don’t want to leave this on much past the 40 degree point, especially in direct sunlight. The humidity will climb as the day progresses, with no way to escape. And we all know what happens when nearly finished flowers meet intense heat and humidity…. 🫣
Happy Crop-tober community!!!! May your yields be bountiful and your days blessed 💜💚💜💚🙌💯

💜🤝 Every Gardener Has Something to Teach 🤝💜

One of the best things about gardening is that no one ever learns it all.

Every season teaches something new.

Sometimes the lesson comes from a bumper harvest.

Sometimes it comes from a mistake that helps you do better next year.

That’s why I enjoy sharing this journey. If something I learn helps one other gardener, then it’s worth posting.

And I learn just as much from the people who share their experiences with me.

Whether you’re growing flowers, vegetables, herbs, fruit, or anything else, we’re all connected by the same goal—helping something grow.

💬 What’s one lesson your garden has taught you this season?

💜🔨 Every Garden Is Built One Project at a Time 🔨💜

When people see a healthy garden, they usually notice the harvest.

What they don’t always see are the little projects that make it possible.

Building supports.

Pulling weeds.

Adjusting irrigation.

Checking on plants every day.

Gardens aren’t built in a weekend—they’re built one small project at a time.

That’s one of the reasons I enjoy sharing this journey. It’s not just about the end result. It’s about the process, the lessons, and the satisfaction of watching everything come together over time.

If you’re working on a project in your own garden this weekend, I’d love to hear what it is.

🌱 Keep Growing. 💜🐇

💜🌿 It’s Okay to Start Small 🌿💜

One thing gardening has taught me is that every great harvest starts with something small.

A seed.

A cutting.

A little bit of soil.

A little bit of patience.

It’s easy to look at someone else’s finished garden and forget that they started exactly where we all do—with one plant and a willingness to learn.

That’s why I believe in sharing the journey, not just the results.

Whether you’ve been growing for years or you’re putting your first plant in the ground, there’s always something new to learn.

Let’s keep learning together.

🌿 Collaboration over Competition. 💜🐇
