We’ve been quiet on this one so far, but with construction finishing soon it’s time to share some of the progress on one of our next big projects - transforming the historic offices of Cincinnati’s Hake & Hake architects into the new headquarters for a local nonprofit.
Right on time for its centennial, this 1925 Renaissance Revival structure will house art and educational programming, community room for events and exhibits, office space, an art studio, job training programming, and a landscaping warehouse in the 14,000 SF building in Walnut Hills.
Over the course of the last two years, the design team has gotten to know what the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati described as a “exquisite and even witty” facade, “‘aged’ public spaces, and highly efficient, well-lit second-floor working quarters”, including a reproduction of a room in an actual Florentine palazzo, all over top an early car showroom. We’ve gotten to play a few architectural tricks on it (and it played just as many on us).
With minimal architectural insertions in dialogue with the historic structure, we’re excited to share more details as we transform the Hake Building into the non-profit’s new long term home.
