A week without water is something no homeowner wants to deal with.

This customer called us after discovering a leak in their main water line. After excavating the area, we found the culprit right at the water shut-off. Once the problem was exposed, we removed the damaged section and replaced approximately 3 feet of water line.

By the end of the day, the leak was gone and the customer's water was finally back on after being without it for an entire week.

If you're dealing with a water service leak, don't wait. All Grit Plumbing has the equipment and experience to locate the problem, make the repair, and get your water flowing again.

Some plumbing problems require a different approach.

A homeowner called us with an intermittent sewer smell that had been an issue since they purchased the home. Several plumbing companies had already been out and were unable to find the source.

Since the smell came and went, we decided to go straight to a smoke test. By introducing specialized smoke into the home's drain system, we were able to quickly locate the problem.

The culprit was an abandoned 2" drain line hidden above the basement drop ceiling that had been left open during a previous bathroom renovation. We capped the line, eliminating the sewer gas smell for good.

The homeowners were thrilled to finally have an answer after years of dealing with the problem.

This homeowner had a problem that went far beyond a clogged gutter drain.

The original corrugated pipe running under the driveway had completely failed. To keep water moving, the downspout was redirected onto the driveway. It worked in the summer, but every winter it turned the driveway into an ice-skating rink.

Our solution was to do it the right way. We saw-cut the driveway, excavated the failed pipe, and installed a new 3" Schedule 40 PVC drain line under the driveway. Once everything was tested and flowing properly, we re-poured the concrete and restored the driveway.

No more water running across the surface. No more dangerous ice buildup. Just a permanent fix built to last.

Drain not draining? Sometimes the biggest challenge is simply getting access to the problem.

We got a call from a customer in Wolverine Lake whose basement kitchen sink was draining extremely slow. During our initial visit, we found the cleanout was hidden behind kitchen cabinets, preventing us from properly servicing the line.

The customer gave us a call later that evening and let us know he had removed everything needed to gain access. Danny was back out the very next day with the High-Speed Flex Shaft and got the line cleaned out properly.

Now the kitchen is flowing exactly as it should!

A huge thank you to the customer for removing the cabinets and giving us access to do the job the right way.

🚨 Basement Bathroom Back in Business! 🚨

This customer called us because the ejector pump serving their basement bathroom wasn't working properly. After a thorough diagnosis, Ethan found the issue, a failed float switch inside the ejector pump.

Luckily, our vans are fully stocked with the parts needed for repairs like this. We had a replacement pump, a quiet check valve, and a PVC ball valve right on the truck, allowing us to complete the repair immediately.

Ethan knocked this one out with an extremely clean, professional installation and had the customer's basement bathroom back up and running in no time.

No waiting on parts. No return trips. Just fast, reliable service done right the first time.

πŸ’§ Big Upgrade for This Commercial Property! πŸ’§

This building had a major issue during heavy rainstorms, water would pool around the main entrance because the existing drainage system simply couldn't keep up.

After investigating, we found the problem: the original system was relying on a 2-inch shower drain to handle parking lot runoff. That's nowhere near enough capacity for the amount of water this area receives during a Michigan downpour.

Our team removed the inadequate drainage and installed a new 6-inch drain system designed to move a significantly higher volume of water and keep the area draining properly when the rain starts coming down.

The difference in capacity between a 2-inch drain and a 6-inch drain is huge, and this property is now set up to handle the water the right way.

When drainage problems are causing flooding, ponding, or safety concerns, All Grit Plumbing has the experience and equipment to provide a permanent solution.

10:30 at night. Emergency call out in Burton.

Customer had a severe main sewer line blockage causing sewage to leak from the clean out. We immediately jumped into action and were able to get the line cleared and flowing again. Unfortunately, there was over 100 gallons of sewage backed up in the line by the time we arrived.

A lot of times homeowners try to clear these blockages themselves and continue running water, which only makes the situation worse. What started as a blockage quickly turned into a major mess for this customer.

When it comes to main sewer line backups, it’s always best to call the pros right away before a small problem becomes a disaster.

Customer called us because their hose bib was making strange noises and barely letting any water through. Danny was sent out to investigate and quickly found the issue, the hose bib had frozen and cracked over the winter. ❄️

While down in the Michigan basement shutting things down, Danny noticed something much more serious. A galvanized fitting coming off the main well line was heavily corroded and actively leaking.

Thankfully, the issue was caught before it turned into an even bigger disaster. We showed the customer exactly what was going on, and they were extremely relieved we found it when we did. Danny jumped into action and had everything repaired in no time. πŸ’ͺ

This is exactly why experience matters. Sometimes the original problem is only part of the story. At All Grit Plumbing, we don’t just fix symptoms, we find the real problem.

Cast iron pipe replacement out in Commerce Township today. Customer called us out for a blocked sewer line. We got the line cleared and flowing again, but like always, we followed up with a full sewer camera inspection to make sure we found the root cause of the problem.

The camera revealed the cast iron pipe was collapsing internally and restricting flow. That old cast iron had reached the end of its life. Our crew located the pipe outside, excavated down, removed the failing pipe, and replaced it with brand new Schedule 40 PVC built to last.

This is exactly why camera inspections matter after clearing a blockage. Clearing the clog is only half the battle, finding out WHY it happened is the All Grit way.
