There are many ways to design a home, especially when it comes to a roof systems. A roof can completely change the look of a home, and here is an example that we are working on for one of our customers.

EXTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

INTERIOR LAYOUT (CUTAWAY)
The bottom half provides a "dollhouse" view of the living quarters, revealing how a pioneer family would have utilized the limited space.

THE MAIN LIVING AREA (RIGHT)
This is the largest room, serving as a kitchen, dining room, and hearth.
• Fireplace: A massive stone hearth dominates the wall, featuring a roaring fire and iron tools.
• Furniture: A simple wooden dining table with four chairs is positioned near a window. A rocking chair sits by the fire, and a wooden hutch (china cabinet) is visible in the background.
• Flooring: Wide wooden planks cover the entire floor.

THE SLEEPING QUARTERS (LEFT)
The left side is split into two levels:
• Lower Bedroom: Contains two simple wooden bed frames with plain linens. The walls show a bit of exposed "lath and plaster" detail, suggesting the interior finish.
• Upper Loft: Accessible by the sloping roof, this area contains an additional bed and a hanging lantern. This is likely where the children, such as Laura and Mary Ingalls, would have slept.

VISUAL STYLE
The image has a clean, digital aesthetic. While it captures the 19th-century frontier vibe, the lighting is very bright and modern, and the wood appears freshly milled rather than weathered by the elements.
