Woods Family Recipe: Deer Rub Repellent

In early fall bucks rub their antlers against small trees. This rubbing intensifies during rut. Rut can be seven to ten days in October, and can last into early November. These rubs can allow for burrowing insects and disease to take a foot hold,stunting growth to even complete loss.

Here is a family recipe we use to keep our woodland friends away, and save you money. rather than buying expensive guards or pricey pre made sprays.

Ingredients needed:
2 Egg
1 tbs Garlic Powder
1 tbs Cayenne
Water - to thin contents to make easier to apply
That's all you need !

Step 1: blend ingredients, using a whisk or a blender
Step 2: strain mixture through thin metal strainer. If intended to be applied with a spraying unit (example picture below) this step with keep from clogging
Step 3: Apply to entire surface area of bark/ base of tree - this can be used via a spraying unit as stated above or a simple paint brush

This should keep your trees happy and healthily through rut.
