This was a behemoth to tackle! The client wanted us to replicate the original as much as possible and retain the rustic nature of the piece. Once I set to work, I discovered that what she believed to be paint was actually a very thin colored paper. Thus, sanding was required. A base of Annie Sloan Original was then altered with a combo wash of Original, Coco, and Honfleur on the body and a wash of Honfleur on the top and bottom. Amsterdam Green was washed along the top edge. Ragging and wiping were used to create the aged look she wanted. Stencil was done with a wash of Amsterdam Green. The entire piece was waxed with clear and the darker pieces were also waxed with dark. Paint purchased from
