The calmest snake in your collection may actually be the most stressed. 🐍

Snakes do not communicate discomfort like dogs. Sitting quietly on your shoulder does not necessarily mean a snake is enjoying the experience. Sometimes it simply means the animal has stopped trying to get away.

Handling is important for health checks, enclosure maintenance and helping a snake tolerate necessary movement. The question is whether we are handling them for their benefit or ours.
