We just completed this Landscape today! It’s been truly a pleasure getting to do. It’s complete with new Irrigation, outdoor accent lighting, and a one-of-a-kind water feature. We incorporated a multitude of plants including Texas Mountain Laurel, Vitex Trees, Hostas, Hibiscus, Salvia Greggii, Lantana, Drift Roses, and Variegated Liriope to name a few.

We got the privilege of landscaping the back yard pool area of this beautiful home last Summer, and now we get to install the front landscape! Here we installed some Bandana Lantana, New Gold Lantana, Salvia Greggii, Indigo Spires Salvia, Tropical Hibiscus, Big Blue Liriope, Katy Rheulia, Foxtail Fern, and Marigolds(for annual color). Evergreen base consists of a Nellie R Stevens Holly, Needlepoint Hollies, and Dwarf Yaupon Hollies.
In a few weeks this Landscape will be popping with beautiful Spring colors!

Ever wonder what causes these unsightly depressions in Lawn turf that generally run is rows such as in this pic? It’s a result in always mowing the same route/direction, and path every time it is mowed. The tires of the mower over a period of time create these depressions.
To avoid this from occurring to your beautiful lawn, always change mowing patterns each time you mow. Alternate back and forth directions in which you mow from one time to the next. If you do this, you will eliminate unsightly rutting and have a nice level turf!

Who else enjoys all the beautiful Irises this time of year?

Here’s some interesting information on Irises:

•Irises come in many forms, shapes, and colors. The sword-like foliage is attractive when the plant is not in bloom.
•The Iris was named after the Greek goddess who is considered to be the messenger of love and uses the rainbow to travel. Iris oils have been named after the goddess because of the numerous colors it is available in.
•Irises are among the best-known and loved among garden plants. Irises are hardy herbaceous perennials.
•The genus Iris is a large genus of bulbous and rhizomatous perennials.
•The Iris was named after the goddess of the rainbow because of its many colors.
•A flower on the Sphinx is considered to be an Iris, and another appears on a bas-relief of the time of the 18th Egyptian dynasty.
•Pliny also knew the Iris and praised its medicinal virtues.

The Iris flower characteristic’s is having three petals often called the "standards" and three outer petal-like sepals called the "falls".
