Here are a few things in bloom at the forest this week!! Along with the guest appearance of a lovely Pearl Crescent butterfly this morning!!

Too many sedges to include but well over 15 in bloom or just going to seed!!

Just a taste of the slow time period between spring and summer bloomers. In healthy habitats, there are no lulls in nectaring resources!!

Thank you to everyone who stopped in to chat with us yesterday at the Clintonville Farmers Market !! We really enjoyed getting to engage with such a large part of our community. Many folks were interested in having us come out to help them with their landscapes. One reason was to help identify what native plants may already be hiding out and the other is to help build out suggestions for ways that habitat health can be increased. Knowing your land and the plants that reside there will greatly enhance your ability to work with nature rather than against it. (If you are interested in these services please reach out to schedule an appointment.)

This week we will have our regular nursery hours from 10am-4pm Thurs-Sat and down at the market again Sunday.

Stop in, experience nature, shop for native plants, and get inspired to take on that forgotten corner of your yard just waiting to become a native plant Bed and Breakfast for all our fun critters!!

We had such a blast at the annual Wamsco meeting!! So many awesome folks who work so hard to protect our lakes and river...

We had such a blast at the annual Wamsco meeting!! So many awesome folks who work so hard to protect our lakes and rivers throughout Shawano and Menominee county.

And thank you to all the participating landowners and Lake association reps that came to be apart of it. It's the action chosen by local residents that make all the difference for the health and preservation of our beautiful waterscapes!!

We will be reloaded and ready to go tomorrow down at the Clintonville Farmers Market . We hope to see you there!!

Walked across our bridge and kicked up a family of Cedar Waxwings who were bathing in the fresh spring water!!

We loved our feathered friends that call our forest home!!
