We went on a date! Wine tasting no less. Jumped in the Porsche, dropped the top, and drove up to the Elderberry House in Oakhurst. We were impressed with the wine selections. Nice weather, good wine, beautiful woman… what better day could man have. Life with Tess is a hoot.

I am doing a series of videos that explain, in detail, some of the aspects of wood turning. This one explains my methods of attaching a tenon to a bowl blank and why, in addition to how and why I core a blank. If you like it do the Youtube thing, (like, subscribe, share) and comment please.

In this video I prepare bowl blank for mounting by glueing a tenon to it in preparation for corn the center which will be used as a tenon. I give detailed e...

I did some different things in this one including coring and using a bowl steady.

This is a big Holly cherry blank (18 lbs.) from which I cored two pieces. I produce two bowls that turned out to quite the adventure. I ended up using my b...

This was a really cool little project. Absolutely nothing difficult about it, no waiting for epoxy or resin to go off, just good old fashioned turning.

I had forgotten what a pleasure a simple turning could be. No waiting for resin or epoxy to cure, no assembly required! Just put the wood on the lathe and ...

This wood is Claro. It is walnut. Watch how I completed this pretty little thing.

This is a pedestal bowl 11" in diameter, 5" high, with a bowl depth of 3". As has become my habit, the bottom portion of the pedestal is a piece I cored fro...

This piece is the third in a series of bowls that I turned from a piece of ornamental plum that I sourced a few years ago. This was a complex piece and in the video you'll see some of the challenges I had in addition to the design changes I made. No such thing as problems, just challenges and solutions.
Watch the fun I had in the playpen here:

This is a long video. The project ended up being comprised of five separate components. Had a few challenges along the way, just opportunities to learn.Thi...

This is a little late... but it was fun. A client brought me pieces of a bench that an uncle had built a gazillion years ago. He wanted it to last another gazillion years. I captioned each image.
