In the summer of 1978, in between weekend basketball games, high-school buddies John Franzone and Ben Marcantoni started replacing concrete driveways and sidewalks in the Timonium area.

Ben Marcantoni became the sole officer in 1981, when John Franzone left to join his family business Fawn Plastics.
